I went back and reread the articles you selected on Napoleon's bicentennial this week after attending a virtual lecture/author talk on Cynthia Saltzman's new book “Plunder: Napoleon's Theft of Veronese's Feast.” Her book deals with how Napoleon "looted"/"collected" (the verb choice can be "fun") Italian art as he made his way across the regions of Italy laying the foundations of today's Louvre. (The lecture is available on Albertine's website if you're curious.) Reading about both the art Napoleon took from Italy and the art/architecture he left behind has been a welcome break from daily life over the past few weeks. Thank you as always for the topics you dig up...
